Green.org sat down with David Ioffe, the founder of TeamDFI, to learn about how he started a company that is helping startups secure funding. Lets dive deeper.

David, thank you for being here. Tell us a little bit about you.

I am a driven and accomplished entrepreneur with diverse professional experience. I currently work as a Public Sector Global Data Analyst for SAP, where I help secure government contracts in the US and assists customers with software issues. I have also worked on research projects for NASA, including the SMAP satellite, which focused on measuring water moisture. In addition to my work in the tech and research sectors, I also gained experience in the construction industry through internships as a Site Supervisor and Project Manager. I have used these skills to start his own company, TeamDFI, which helps startups secure funding and college interns. I am particularly passionate about PropTech and helping the world have access to the best technology available.

What would you do with $1 Billion dollars?

Provide scholarships or financial aid: I would use the money to provide scholarships or financial aid to students who might otherwise be unable to afford an education. This could include funding full scholarships or providing assistance with tuition or other expenses. Lots of students don’t know about the startup world and through this program they would be able to start their companies and get the proper education. Investing in research and development: I would use the money to fund research and development efforts focused on improving educational outcomes for students. This might include developing new technologies or methods for delivering education, or conducting research to better understand how students learn. I would hold yearly conventions where I talk to CEOs of successful companies and invite only students and young professionals to attend.

Why do you think climate change and sustainability is such an important topic today?

Climate change and sustainability are important topics today because they have significant implications for the well-being of both current and future generations. It is important that we take action to address these issues now. This includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, adapting to the impacts of climate change that are already happening, and developing more sustainable systems and practices in areas such as energy production, transportation, and agriculture.

What can the average person do to make a difference?

Reduce energy consumption in the workplace: Encourage your company to adopt energy-efficient practices, such as turning off lights and electronics when not in use and using energy-efficient appliances. You can also suggest that the company invest in renewable energy sources, such as solar panels or wind turbines. Promote sustainable practices in your workplace: Encourage your coworkers to adopt more sustainable practices, such as using reusable water bottles and coffee cups, using public transportation or carpooling to work, and reducing waste by recycling and composting. Support environmentally-friendly business practices: Look for opportunities to support environmentally-friendly business practices within your company. This could include purchasing supplies made from sustainable materials, supporting eco-friendly initiatives, or advocating for the adoption of environmentally-friendly policies.

David, thank you for sharing how your company is helping startups secure funding.
