Going Green had the chance to sit down with Dave Epstein, Coach, Advisor, Angel Investor, College Adjunct, to discuss his passion for sustainability, renewable energy, and entrepreneurship. Going Green host Dylan Welch and Dave discuss what Dave looks for when it comes to billion dollar business investments, as well as what advice he has for future entrepreneurs.
Dave shares his vision for the future, and how small increments in efficiency can lead to massive disruptions in the cleantech and renewable energy industries. Dave’s episode of Going Green will be available on Apple, Spotify, and every other major platform. Be sure to subscribe to Going Green so that you are notified when Dave’s episode is available.
Let’s get to know Dave a little bit better, before releasing the episode. How did you get involved in the sustainable industry?
As a venture capitalist, then helping and coaching clean tech companies, and now continuing that, studied as a DCI Fellow at Stanford, on the visiting advisory board at U. of Wisconsin Global Health Institute.
What trends are you seeing in your industry?
More awareness of climate change, the out-sized impact on certain races and on marginalized communities, the politicization of a unified approach by the world at large and the effect of slanted media intended to deceive. The effect of COVID-19 has brought to light why laissez-faire approach will not work.
What is one action item the viewers can take away from this conversation?
We may have the opportunity to regain leadership in climate change action in addition to research. We can show how to do this equitably across all populations and demonstrate ethical application of solutions. Everyone needs to speak out, be clear about it and cross political boundaries to make real change.
Going Green wants to thank Dave for sharing his journey working as a Stanford Fellow and Angel Investor.
