8 Simple Ways to Reduce your Carbon Footprint.

Share

Ever thought about how to reduce your carbon footprint? First, let’s start with the basics. Do you even know the definition of carbon footprint or how it’s produced? The Merriam-Webster website provides this definition; “the amount of greenhouse gases and specifically carbon dioxide emitted by something (such as a person’s activities or a product’s manufacture and transport) during a given period”. To be more transparent, some examples of your carbon footprint would be when you drive your car, non-solar use of electricity, or purchasing food that was imported from a foreign country. Yes, that cup of coffee you enjoy every morning probably came from another country, leaving a carbon footprint. It’s unfortunate that our modern way of living contributes to global warming.

But there is hope. Day by day we can learn more about “Going Green” and implement
alternative solutions that could help reduce our carbon footprint. Now is your chance to take a
step in the right direction to reducing your carbon footprint and inspiring others by leading by
example. If you’re tired of going through the motions when it comes to “Going Green”. Be brave, you can do it. We at “Going Green” believe in you and we’re cheering you on. I provided some alternatives that’ll get you on your way to becoming that earth friendly person you’ve always wanted to be (wink) lol.

Ways to reduce your Carbon Footprint:

  1. Purchase local produce.
  2. Set your washer machine to cold when doing laundry.
  3. Switch to paperless billing.
  4. Invest in a reusable grocery bag.
  5. Install solar panels on your home.
  6. Walk, bike, or use public transportation or purchase an electric vehicle.
  7. Don’t let the water run for a long period of time when brushing your teeth.
  8. Telecommute if possible.

What do you do to reduce your carbon footprint?
