Sustainability In The Media

Share

The media industry is worth over 720 billions, and it has an influence and pull over everyone across the planet. In the palm of our hand, billion dollar companies have the ability to influence our decisions, and convince us to buy certain products. Through the connection of the internet, we now have the ability to interact and connect with people around the world in an instant. With Facebook, Instagram, and Gmail we can connect and share information with our network with the click of a button, so use this wisely.

Power In Numbers

Because of this, there is a tremendous amount of power and responsibility with every single individual who is connect through these platforms. As we saw in the 2016 elections, it is possible for governments, companies, and individuals to use that information to share and create misleading content, and drive it to the people who are most vulnerable.

Now more than ever, we need to use our ability to connect with people to spread positivity and helpful information. This can educate the masses and change the world. We can create events and invite our neighbors, we can start a business and employ locals, and we can research important topics and create our own blogs and news resources.

Use Your Resources

The most important thing to remember is that every single person has a voice. Every single person can be inspired. People are no longer are held hostage by giant corporations deciding what content we create. Everyone has the ability to take high res photos and shoot videos on our phones. You can edit it on our computers, and post the content to a national and international audience. We can use this to our advantage, and by creating content that entertains and encourages people to participate and engage, we are making a difference.

The point of this is to make everyone realize that there is an endless and unlimited amount of resources and information out there, available for you to learn from. You have the choice of who you choose to follow, like, comment on, and support.

If you look at people like Greta Thunberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, and Tom Steyer, you can realize the massive reach and impact people can have simply by sharing and posting positive, empowering media. So take some time to look at the media you are consuming. Is it making the world a better place? If not, we are happy to help you find that content and help you along your journey to living a more sustainable and eco-friendly life.
