Are You A Waste Worrier? Stop Food Waste With Too Good To Go

As the staff of Green Success Stories munches on croissants and muffins, we are patting ourselves on the back (and tummy) for doing something good for the planet.

We got those goodies for a super discount via the Too Good To Go program. We have joined the waste worriers.

Too Good To Go is an international organization dedicated to reducing food waste. They contract with local restaurants, coffee shops, and other vendors, to sell perfectly good food, that would be otherwise thrown out, at a big discount.

When you download their app (on GooglePlay or Apple App Store) and log in, you are presented with a list of offerings in your neighborhood, and the time they can be picked up. The offerings are discounted significantly from what the regular asking price would be. The contents are a surprise, put in a secret goody bag for you to anticipate all day long.

So far example, our staff found a $5.99 offer from Kahwa, which would ordinarily be $18.00. Late night coffee and munchies people that we are, we went for the offer, and came back to the office with 6 buttery, flaky croissants and a giant chocolate chip muffin.

And as we munched we wiped our crumbs and saluted the good folks behind Too Good To Go.

They call themselves “waste worriers.” We have joined the tribe (though afterwards we’re more like waist worriers).

Won’t you join us? We’ll save you a croissant next time.
