Tell us a little bit about you, your background, and your current role:

My name is Hannah Davis, and I am a Co-Founder of ClimateRaise, a newsletter that connects active investors to women-led climate tech founders.

Hannah Davis, Co-Founder at ClimateRaise

Why do you think climate change and sustainability is such an important topic today?

All life depends on the health of our planetary ecosystems – our forests, waters, soils, air are what sustain all humans and animals. Today, and for generations to come. Being in right relationship with our planet, that gives so much to us, should be the most obvious, most important thing for us to do. Unfortunately it’s not, and it hasn’t been for generations for most people. And because of that, we feel the effects of that via increasing droughts, temperatures, wildfires, floods, sea level rise and intense storms. And thought climate change impacts all humans, it is disproportionally impacting those who often already suffer from poverty.

Business as usual can’t go on as it has given the negative impacts to climate and so we are seeing everyone starting to take action, as inaction is no longer an option.

What do you envision your industry looking like 10 years from now?

I certainly cannot predict the future and I usually don’t try. But I really hope that we have transitioned away from fossil fuels towards renewable sources, invested heavily in both removing carbon and no longer emitting anymore carbon/greenhouse gases. I hope climate change is no longer a political issues and that we are are supporting those most negatively impacted by its effects. I also hope that everyone is either a vegan or moved on to plant-based or cell meats.

What can the average person do to make a difference?

Read this blog and follow Erika’s advice! It’s the best personal action blog I’ve seen. https://erikareinhardt.com/personal-climate-action
