Communication Leads to Renewable Energy Advancements

Hannah Glenn, a writer and cleantech journalist sits down with Going Green to discuss how effective communication leads to renewable energy advancements. Hannah focuses on writing in the IT, health, cleantech, and cloud computing, and enjoys writing about complex topics in a clear effective way, while still being able to write about technology in a human way.

Tell us a little bit about you and your background:

My background is in screenwriting and marketing writing. I have a BA in film and screenwriting and studied marketing there as well as post-grad at UCLA and online.

What is a fun fact about you?

I played the keyboard and sang in an indie rock band with my best friends in college.

Why do you think climate change and sustainability is such an important topic today?

They’re all-encompassing and they affect everyone. Writing in health and tech, I’ve become blatantly aware of the health hazards and financial cost of climate change and pollution. Writing about clean energy tech is the other side or the answer to all that in a way. More people are waking up to the reality of where we are and that we have to change our standard way of operating.

What do you envision your industry looking like 10 years from now?

I see clean energy tech like solar as even more commonly accepted. I hope renewable tech will be even more scalable. Currently, I see a change in the perception of solar power in particular. It’s more understood and accepted than even five or ten years ago. I also saw the pandemic lockdown as an eye-opener for people who ignored everyday pollution as the air in big cities was clear with so few cars on the road. I hope to see the impact of that realization in 10 years.

What can the average person do to make a difference?

Learn what you can about little ways you can contribute to a greener world and take those actions consistently. I really believe that small changes add up over time.

Hannah, thank you for taking the time to share experience writing about Renewable Energy Advancements.
