Ramin Hoodeh, Product Manager at GroupM, shares how he is utilizing media to build a sustainable future.
Tell us a little bit about you and your background:
I’m a Product Manager working in the innovation team at a global media investment agency, and outside of work I write spiritual fiction. My book is called The Proposition, and it’s about a political prisoner and poet, called Ali, who makes an unlikely friend with a young soldier.
What is a fun fact about you?
I’m convinced that aliens have been in touch with humans for a long time…
Why do you think climate change and sustainability is such an important topic today?
They’re important today because how we address those topics effects our future. There are people living now who are going to raise children that will grow up to experience the direct effects of climate change. It’s important as future parents to show your kids that you were on the right side of history. And in the end, there’s nothing more important in this world than loving and respectful relationships between parents and children. Families make villages that make towns, that make cities, countries and so on. It all starts at home; can your kids look up to you? Can you show them a great example to follow? This is at the core of what it means to have a bright future.
What do you envision your industry looking like 10 years from now?
Vastly different because the Apple Glasses will change everything… that’s my bet!
What can the average person do to make a difference?
I think that people are so busied with the demands of their everyday lives that they’re too exhausted to even think of a way they can make a difference. My advice would be to set aside time to sit with yourself for 20 minutes each day, and do nothing. Find what it means to listen to your heart, truly. Soon, you will just know the right course of actions to take in your every day life and in your purpose-related mission. Each person must find their path, unique to themselves.
